I am writing this recommendation to anyone who may be considering using a JIB for their event. Having never seen a JIB before, I was concerned that it might somehow detract from the overall elegant atmosphere that we were hoping to create for this black tie wedding reception.
I am delighted to say that my concerns were totally unfounded. Not only was the JIB discreetly positioned and unobtrusive, but in talking to several of our guests after the wedding they told me that they did not even realize that there was a JIB in the room.
When I saw the initial footage my immediate reaction was WOW! The combination of High Definition image quality and the vantage points that the JIB allowed the camera to focus on made the video look like one that could have been shot on a full-length feature film! It was very professional looking, and the best part is that we got to see everyone on the dance floor at one time.
During the dancing, the speeches, and the entire reception, you could make out faces even at the outer parts of the screen. You really don't miss a thing, and that was our main objective. It was, in a word - AMAZING!
If anyone told me that they were going to have video done at their event and wanted top quality results, my recommendations without hesitation would be as follows:
1) Use High Definition Video
2) Make sure to use a JIB at the event if you want to capture everything.
